Filipino Martial Arts

Filipino Martial Arts is an esoteric system of training that includes empty hands, grappling and weapons! It has become more prominent for training today for its effective and beautiful weapons techniques.

a highly effective system from the philippines

The history of the Filipino Martial Arts (Kali, Eskrima, Arnis), spans centuries from conflicts with foreign invaders and occupation, most notably the Spanish in the late 1500’s. Kali, Eskrima and Arnis are synonomous terms for similar arts and systems of the Philippines.

Sometimes we refer to the art as Kali, which comes from 2 separate words. Kamut Lihok, which means “hand motion” or “body motion”. Eskrima and Arnis are synonymous terms for Kali. Kali teaches weapons first and applies those movements to empty hands with complex striking and destructive entries, including grappling.

Our lineage comes from Guro Ron Balicki, who is certified by Guro Inosanto. Our Inosanto\Balicki Kali system is quite robust and is an arts that we can all grow old with.

Love is the highest art. In ancient times, you trained so hard, not for the sake of killing proplr, but for the love of your family, the love of you mothers, your father, your children, your tribe and your body. That’s why we train so hard, so you can preserve life.
